Out of approximately 1.5 billion Indians, 50% of the population is younger than 25. Most of these young Indians are studying or have studied and are looking for jobs. To stimulate the nation’s growth by Capitalizing on its youth, the Government of India offers various welfare schemes to students and the unemployed to help them become self-reliant and productive members of society.
The Swavlamban Yojana or the Mukkhya Mantri Swawlamban Yojana aims toward the youth of Himachal Pradesh to be self-employed and self-reliant. Under the Swavlamban Yojana, Fresh college graduates with 3-4 year degree courses in the ‘Information Technology’ and ‘Information Technology Enabled Services’ sectors will benefit from improved placement rates. Also, unemployed youth who invest INR 40 lakh or more in the industry will be provided with a 25% subsidy for their investment. These benefits, if availed of correctly, will be beneficial for the financial independence of the Himachali youth.
The ‘Mukkhaya Mantrii Gyaandeep Yojana’ or the ‘CM Gyaandeep Yojana’ aims toward helping out the students of Himachal Pradesh by providing subsidiary benefits on Education loans. Under this scheme, the suitable student candidates of Himachal will get an interest subsidy of up to 4% on their education loans up to Rs10 lakh.
